Over the past week we have been working on Dizorb to incorporate some features which we have always wanted for this website. While this means that we didn’t post any new content for this week, I believe that these improvements were a nice and welcomed addition to Dizorb, which many visitors are already taking advantage of.

In order to view the changes that have been made on Dizorb.com, you may need to empty your browsers cache.

I won’t go into much detail since a great design should speak for itself, but the main new features are:

  • updated “User Walls” gallery design
  • ability to favorite images from the “User Walls” galleries. (you must have a Dizorb account)
  • fixed the “Add Wallpaper” feature to the “User Walls” galleries. You should now be able to contribute to the user galleries
  • improved navigation menu
  • ability to create a Dizorb account ( it was disabled due to spam)
  • slight update to HD Walls: Quick View

We hope you enjoy these new improvements :)

In this Quick Digest post we feature Basestation iPhone 4 Stand; Lomokino Super 35; 1969 Holden Hurricane Concept; Bright Blind; Cat and Mouse; TreeHotels; iHome iP4 Boombox; Monitor Hood; and Murmuration video

Quick Digest is an accumulation of all the interesting things that we find around the net on any particular day. Here we feature many things that might be out of the norm for a dizorb post such as music, tech, gaming, humor, and so on. Since we also know how short of an attention span most of you have, each featured content has a short explanation.

BaseStation iPhone 4 Stand

“Put your iPhone on display while it syncs and charges. The BaseStation($52) for iPhone 4 features a large holder that has matching groove for iPhone 4 and its USB cable. Available in Maple or Walnut wood, and you can customize the iPhone 4 stand via engraving your name or logo on it.”

“Get ready to have your world turned upside down! The LomoKino, Lomography’s very own 35mm movie camera, is set to revolutionize the analogue landscape forever. Forget about the rules and direct your own stunning short films – with this handy camera, all you need is a 35mm roll and your creativity!”

Bright Blind by Makoto Hirahara

“While it’s not being prescribed as a cure for seasonal affective disorder just yet, the Bright Blind is sure to lighten one’s spirit in dark, sad abodes and office spaces worldwide. Made of electroluminescent (EL) sheets, Makoto Hirahara’s Bright Blind simulates a window where none exists. The artificial blind functions in exactly the way you might guess; turn the plastic stick and control the brightness!”

1969 Holden Hurricane Concept

Holden has gone back to the future, restoring its very first concept car — the 1969 Holden Hurricane.

“The futuristic research vehicle described as an experiment “to study design trend, propulsion systems and other long range developments” has been restored to its former glory as a labour of love by a dedicated group of Holden designers and engineers. Code named RD 001; the Hurricane is a mid-engined, rear-wheel drive, two-seater sports car which incorporates a remarkable array of innovative features and technology, much of it way ahead of its time.

Features include: electronic digital instrument displays; station-seeking radio; automatic temperature control air conditioning; rear vision camera; automated route finder”

Great news. We have gone through and approved 335 new wallpapers for our 1280×800 User gallery. That makes the total number of wallpapers in this gallery 432. So make sure to check them out!!

During the next few days we are going through our other user galleries and reviewing the wallpapers submitted. We are also going to be adding some new resolutions to the galleries, which have been long overdue.

First off, I want to start by saying Thank You to all those who sent an email in support of Dizorb.com. I am sorry that Dizorb hadn’t been updated for about a year and simply abandoned. Thank you for sending those emails urging us not to abandon Dizorb. Thank you for reminding us how much Dizorb means to us, and to you. Most of all thank you for not letting us go.

In the time that Dizorb has been away, we have still managed to attract many daily visitors. This to us means that what we have achieved for Dizorb isn’t simply temporary content but long lasting.

There was no reason for us to let Dizorb go. The only thing that got in the way was laziness. We have set aside our laziness and locked it in a safe under our beds. The safe is pounding with laziness crying to get out, but long ago I wrote of how I wound never let go of all the work I had done at Dizorb & Zixpk because they were my babies. I let my babies down and now its time to make up for that fact.

Currently we are tying up any loose ends that Dizorb has encountered during our absence and we are thinking of ideas on how we may improve.

After a year off, we are still trying to get back into the groove of operating Dizorb. Right now would be the BEST time to give us any feedback or suggestions that you might have in order to make Dizorb better. So please, leave a comment below.
